Stuart Lawrence is a qualified Barrister, Accredited Mediator, and Adjudicator with over 30 years’ legal experience, primarily gained in commercial in-house legal roles.
He is the founder and Managing Director of Mediator Locator, which he oversees on a day-to-day basis.
Stuart began his legal career in 1994 as a prosecutor before joining the Government Legal Service (Treasury Solicitor’s Department), where he held a commercial legal role.
He went on to serve as Head of Legal / In-House Counsel for a major UK subsidiary of the Bouygues Construction Group — a French multinational — for nearly 11 years, until 2019.
In this role, he managed a team of four lawyers and handled a wide range of commercial and legal matters.
Alongside his legal responsibilities, Stuart also acted as CEO for multiple large-scale and complex PFI/PPP projects, both in the UK and internationally, during his time with Bouygues.
With a strong construction law background, Stuart qualified as an Adjudicator in 2018 and has since represented clients in numerous adjudications.
Prior to becoming an Accredited Mediator in 2019, Stuart regularly acted as a party representative in mediations.
Since qualifying, he has led numerous mediations, consistently receiving positive feedback for his approach and results.
He brings substantial experience in managing high-value civil litigation, which underpins his deep appreciation for the strategic and practical benefits of mediation.
