Kay Baker

Kay is a Solicitor, Partner, Head of Contentious Trusts and Probate and Head of Court of Protection.


Kay qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has worked in Essex and Suffolk ever since, initially dealing with a mixture of non-contentious and contentious trust, probate and Court of Protection work before deciding to specialise in purely contentious work. She endeavours to deal with disputes responsibly and constructively, prioritising solutions over unnecessary conflict.



Kay is an accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator, a full member of STEP and ACTAPS as well as a full member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, ensuring all clients are treated with respect and dignity.


Kay is a member of the East Anglia committee of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.


Kay worked on the case of James v Scudamore [2023] EWHC 996 (Ch) which is the leading case on the doctrine of probate laches.


Kay is recognised by the Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner.
